The supporting energy storage project of the North Shangdu million-kilowatt wind power base project has started construction
On February 23rd, the groundbreaking ceremony for the supporting energy storage project of the million-kilowatt wind power base project in Shangdu, along with the resumption of the wind power project, was held at the Shangdu Power Plant, marking the start of this year's key project construction and resumption of work in the entire city.
Li Lailong, director of the New Energy Division of China Huaneng Group, Zhao Min, deputy director of the New Energy Division, Li Yue, deputy general manager of North United Electric Power Co., Ltd., Gao Yongfeng, general manager and deputy party secretary of Shangdu Power Generation Company, and Hu Gejiletu, a member of the standing committee and executive deputy governor of the city, attended the ceremony. Zhou Chunfang, party secretary and deputy general manager of Shangdu Power Generation Company presided over the ceremony.
The relevant persons in charge of Shangdu Power Generation Company and the project contracting unit introduced the basic situation and construction of the energy storage project and the million-level wind power project. The leaders who attended the ceremony put forward specific construction requirements for the project.
Hu Gejiletu stated that as a pillar enterprise in Zhenglan Banner, Shangdu Power Plant has established a good political and business cooperation relationship with the Banner Government, making outstanding contributions to the economic construction and social development of Zhenglan Banner. The banner committee and government will do their best to provide project construction services and support, work together to promote the project to achieve production and efficiency and achieve mutual benefits between economic benefits and social benefits.
At the ceremony, Li Lailong announced the start of the supporting energy storage project for the million-kilowatt wind power base project in Shangdu and the resumption of the wind power project. The leaders who attended the ceremony jointly filled the foundation stone with soil.
The supporting energy storage project of the Shangdu million-kilowatt wind power base adopts the electrochemical energy storage method and is configured according to 15% of the full capacity of the wind power base (2000MW, including the 400MW capacity constructed by Tanghe New Energy Company). The configured capacity is 300MW/600MWh. The energy storage project is planned to be constructed in phases, and the first phase has a capacity of 100MW/200MWh, which will be built by China Huaneng Group Clean Energy Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (EPC), and put into operation on the same day as the full capacity of the wind power project is connected to the grid. After completion, the energy storage system will be boosted by the energy storage substation to 220kV, and then connected to the 220kV transmission line to the 500kV collection station on the 220kV side of Shangdu Power Plant, ultimately achieving "wind-fire storage" joint power transmission.
On September 6, 2022, the 5-circuit 220 kV transmission line of the Shangdu Wind Power Base project was fully connected, and on September 27, "six stations and five lines" were powered on. On November 1, the first batch of 57 units of 270,000 kW wind turbines were put into operation smoothly. As of February 21, 2023, a total of 230 wind turbines have been installed, with 125 wind turbines connected to the grid and a connected capacity of 593,600 kW. A total of 121 wind turbines have undergone 240 hours of trial operation by the group company. Since the first wind turbine was connected to the grid, the cumulative power generation has reached 572 million kWh, reflecting the initial advantages of "wind-fire cooperation."
Leaders of Shangdu Power Generation Company, as well as responsible persons from project construction and supervision units, attended the ceremony.
