Zhangjiakou 100 MW advanced compressed air energy storage project
On July 8, the 6th International Energy Storage Innovation Competition came the good news that the 100 MW advanced compressed air energy storage technology demonstration project in Zhangbei County, Zhangjiakou City, was awarded the "2022 Energy Storage Technology Top 10 Innovation Paradigm Award" and the "2022 Jury Award".
Zhangbei County 100 MW advanced compressed air energy storage technology demonstration project is a national renewable energy demonstration area demonstration project and provincial critical project, but also the world's first 100 MW advanced compressed air energy storage power plant. The project is technically supported by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and invested by Zhangbei Giant Energy Co. The project can generate 400,000 kWh of electricity in one storage cycle, equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of 20,000-40,000 households if calculated according to 10-20 kWh of electricity consumption per household per day.
According to the introduction, compressed air energy storage is the use of grid load at low valley surplus power compressed air. It will be stored in high-pressure sealed facilities, in the peak electricity consumption released to drive the expansion machine to drive the generator to generate electricity. Compared with traditional compressed air energy storage technology, advanced compact air energy storage technology overcomes the problems of dependence on storage caves, dependence on fossil fuels and lower system efficiency, and has the advantages of large scale, low cost, long life, high efficiency, clean and non-polluting, reliability and high life safety.
