HiveEnergy, a British solar company, shared the plan to build 4GW solar energy and battery energy storage in Turkey. The company intends to build these projects in 30 locations across the country, with an investment of about 4 billion US dollars. It has applied for approval to develop co-located solar energy and battery storage projects with capacities ranging from 11MW to 230MW. These projects have been proposed in 19 cities in Turkey, from Gaziantep in the southeast of the country to Balkesir in the west.

Hive said that the grid capacity is expected to be pre-licensed in the first quarter of 2023. After that, the company will start discussions with international funds and financial institutions to attract foreign direct investment to Turkey.

There are various professional funding agencies in the UK. Since HiveEnergy has been in contact with these funding agencies for many years, we hope to find suitable partners to fund these projects quickly. Once the permission is obtained in the next few months, the construction process of the project will begin. The current application capacity is equivalent to 350 times of our current installed capacity in this country.

HiveEnergy has been operating in Turkey since 2015 and has completed a project in that country. At present, the company has 26GW development pipelines in 20 countries, including solar energy, batteries, wind energy, green hydrogen and green ammonia projects.
