CATL: Talks underway to build multiple EV battery recycling stations in Europe
CATL is already the world's largest EV battery recycler, with a recycling rate of more than 99% for nickel, cobalt, and manganese, and more than 90% for lithium, said CATL's Chief Manufacturing Officer, Ni Jun, during the 2023 Summer Davos Forum.
Last year, CATL Chief Scientist Wu Kai said at the 2022 GaoGong Li-power annual meeting that CATL's Bump Recycling has built 221 battery recycling outlets, and in 2021 the recycling of waste power battery resources accounted for 50% of the country's ranking first.
CATL has previously announced the recycling data of its subsidiary Bump Circulation: "The nickel-cobalt-manganese recycling rate is more than 99%, and the lithium recycling rate is more than 90%."
Guangdong Bangpu Recycling Technology Limited company was founded in 2005, CATL for the first major shareholder, holding 52.87%, and the main resources recycling technology research and development, energy recovery system research and development, and new materials technology research and development.
CATL Chairman Zeng Yuchun said at the 2022 World Power Battery Conference that CATL is strengthening the recycling of battery materials because most of the materials in batteries can be reused. CATL's recycling rate for nickel-cobalt-manganese has reached 99.3%, and lithium has reached over 90%. By 2035, CATL will be able to meet a large part of the market demand by recycling materials from retired batteries.
