On July 8, the independent battery energy storage project on the side of Nanhai Power Grid in Foshan, Guangdong, successfully won the 20-year right to use about 57 mu of land in the Xinjing section of Xiaotang Industrial Avenue, Shishan Town, Nanhai District. In the future, the project will invest more than 1 billion yuan to build a 300MW/600MWh battery energy storage station, which can provide 300,000 kWh of electricity for enterprises during peak load periods, effectively alleviating the problem of regional power shortages.
This is Shishan's first new energy project built through leased land. After the strict staggering power consumption last year, the construction and commissioning of this project are self-evident of the importance of industrial enterprises within the power supply scope.
It is worth mentioning that this project only took three months to complete the land supply and hand over the land to the industrialists. Taking this as a node, Shishan started the "accelerator" for investment promotion in the year's second half.

According to the lease announcement, the land rent will be a three-year rent increase cycle. That is, the rent will increase by 7.5% every three years based on the rent of the previous process.
It is understood that the project is constructed and operated by China Southern Power Grid's peak regulation and frequency regulation (Guangdong) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. In the future, the company will build a 300MW/600MWh battery energy storage station on the land-based on the unit investment intensity of 17.38 million yuan/mu, with a total investment of over 1 billion yuan.
According to the results of the power balance in the Nanhai District, it is predicted that the power gap of the 220kV and below power grid in the South China Sea will reach 5218 MW, 5918 MW, 6425 MW, and 6556 MW. If 1 megawatt is equal to 1000 degrees, the power mentioned above the gap in the South China Sea in 2023 will be 5.218 million degrees.
Generally speaking, staggering power consumption is one of the most effective and standard measures to deal with insufficient power supply. At the same time, the project will also participate in auxiliary services such as system peak regulation and frequency regulation to further improve the safety and flexibility of the power grid system operation locally.
