German renewable energy developer Juwi AG will build the country's first wind+storage project in Brandenburg in the next few weeks, acquired by Hamburg-based renewable energy asset manager CEE Group.

The hybrid system is equipped with two 3.6-megawatt Vestas V136 wind turbines and a 3-megawatt-hour battery storage facility, Juwi said Wednesday.

The project is located in Randowtal, 100 kilometres northeast of Berlin's capital. The project is one of the winners of the innovative tender of the Federal Network Agency in September 2020.

The installation of the wind turbines will begin in mid-November, with commissioning scheduled for the following January, while the storage facility will come online after the wind farm is launched.

The electricity generated by the wind farm will be sold under a 10-year power purchase agreement with Mannheim-based MVV Trading GmbH at a fixed price and will be rewarded with a 20-year fixed market dividend.

CEE Group has acquired the project, including the power purchase agreement.
