Recently, the world's first 100 MW distributed controlled energy storage power station located in Huangtai Power Plant successfully completed the grid-connected performance test, with the highest efficiency of 87.8%, which has an important demonstration significance for the development of new electrochemical energy storage. The actual scale of the power station is 118MW/212MWh, and it was put into operation at the end of December 2021. The 1500V series-connected energy storage, converter and booster integrated machine of Shangneng Electric was adopted. After nearly one year's operation, the average charging capacity of the whole station can still reach 208.6MWh, and the discharging capacity can reach 181.9MWh, which once again verifies the technical advantages of the series energy storage solution, such as better investment, higher profit, more intelligence and safety.


As the first energy storage demonstration project in Shandong, Huaneng has put forward strict requirements and high standards for the safety, reliability, cost reduction and efficiency increase of the energy storage power station in Jinan Huangtai Power Plant. In order to better meet the customer's needs, Shangneng Electric has customized the 1500V series energy storage PCS all-in-one machine for the project-not only the advanced design of a 2.8MW energy storage converter unit by highly integrating 16 EH-0200-HA-M series energy storage converters, but also the integration of the main circuit breaker, loading distribution protection and other functions at the bottom of the cabinet at the beginning of the scheme design, which further saves the equipment cost, effectively reduces the equipment floor area, and reduces the site construction and operation and maintenance costs.
 

 
Compared with the traditional scheme, the energy storage solution of Shangneng Electric Group Series can realize one-to-one accurate and fine management of battery clusters by PCS, fully release the battery power of each cluster, achieve higher returns and get a faster return on investment; Modular design can be flexibly deployed to ensure that when a single cluster battery or a single PCS fails, it will not affect the normal operation of other capacities, and the available capacity of the system can be increased by up to 7.5%, thus reducing the short board effect caused by imbalance among battery clusters; Support the mixed use of new and old batteries and power supply by stages, effectively reducing the initial investment of the power station.
 
At the same time, the safety and reliability of the energy storage PCS of Shangneng Electric Group is also better. It not only has multiple protection functions such as intelligent real-time detection of internal resistance, active warning and active protection, but also adopts IP66 protection +C5 anti-corrosion design, and is not afraid of various complex application environments. The later operation and maintenance is convenient, the PCS module replacement time is less than 1 hour, and the on-site replacement is plug.

 

 
The project adopts the independent operation mode, which is incorporated into the provincial power grid dispatching management and connected to the provincial monitoring platform. It can increase the consumption of new energy by 100 million kilowatt-hours annually, equivalent to reducing the coal consumption by about 30,000 tons. It can further improve the regulation capacity of Shandong power grid, enhance the stability of the power grid, effectively improve the problems of large peak-valley difference and rapid change of the electricity load pressure of local power grid, and the consumption of new energy. It provides a replicable reference model for Shandong to promote the research and development of new energy storage technologies, innovative applications and accelerate the development of energy storage.
