On February 2, local time, the energy storage project of Jurong Island in Singapore, which China Nengjian Shanxi Institute contracted, was officially put into use. Chen Shilong, Minister of Manpower and Second Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore was invited to attend the opening ceremony. Government departments, owners' representatives, and relevant responsible persons such as the Singapore Energy Bureau, Singapore Shengke Industrial Group, Shanxi Institute Singapore Branch, and Energy Storage Project Department were invited to participate.
Chen Shilong pointed out that Singapore, one of the cities with the highest board density in global solar, has taken several decarbonization measures to promote energy transformation. The completion of the Jurong Island energy storage project is of great significance to actively deal with the mismatch between power supply and demand, adjust services to alleviate power grid fluctuations, and greatly help maintain the reliability of the local power grid. Chen Shilong said that the project's smooth operation indicates that the energy storage target in Singapore's 2030 Green Plan has been achieved ahead of schedule.
As the most extensive energy storage system in Southeast Asia, Jurong Island Energy Storage System in Singapore covers an area of 2 hectares, equivalent to nearly three football fields. In December 2022, the project was officially put into operation.
As the EPC general contractor of Singapore's energy storage project, Shanxi Institute cooperated, showing strong professionalism and execution. After five and a half months of engineering construction, Shanxi Institute has continuously optimized the design scheme, actively docked many interfaces, strengthened safety and quality management, completed the project performance with high quality, and constantly polished the enterprise's brand image in the international market.
